Hannah Polk is a native of Lexington, South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she studied horn with Robert Pruzin while earning the Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2007. The following year, she completed the Master of Education degree with an emphasis in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.
Ms Polk is excited about joining the Cobb County school district as the new Director of Bands at Lindley Sixth Grade Academy along with working on staff with the Pope High School Marching Band. Before moving to the Atlanta area, Ms Polk was the Director of Bands at Pleasant Hill Middle School and the Assistant Band Director at Lexington High School in Lexington District One where her bands consistently earned Superior Ratings at festivals and contests.
Ms Polk is a member of the Music Educator's National Conference and the Georgia Music Educators Association. Ms Polk is an active clinician and performer. She has served as guest conductor for clinics and honor bands throughout the state of South Carolina including the Tri-District Arts Consortium. Ms Polk performs with the Cobb Wind Symphony, the Florence Symphony Orchestra, and the Lexington Brass Quintet.
